Dan Britton

Serving In: Texas

In 2021, I became the National Director for Ratio Christi College Prep, utilizing my experience in running a local College Prep chapter for the past seven years. With a modest chapter start in 2014 with 5 high school seniors and a weekly meeting in a home, our local chapter has grown to over 50 students in 2021, including both high school and middle school, some as young as 11. Our chapter has our own dedicated meeting space on the church campus which includes a large meeting room and a library. In addition to our weekly meetings on Mondays and Wednesdays, our chapter has taken multiple field trips, both day trips and overnights, as well as weeklong summer apologetics retreats. Along with my role at Ratio Christi, I'm also the Pastor of Equipping and Apologetics at Hill Country Fellowship in Burnet.

With seven years of experience running our local chapter, my desire is to take our success and make it available to anyone that has a desire to equip the next generation to stand strong on a faith that is their own. Anyone, including church leaders, parents, homeschool co-ops and others, with such a desire can contact me for details on how to start their own local Ratio Christi College Prep chapter.

I do this because 60& to 80% (depending on which survey you read) of self-professing Christian high school students will abandon their faith once they graduate. My desire is to equip them to first, make their faith their own, rather than merely "what" they've been told growing up, and second, to be able to defend the "why" of what they believe. More about this can be read at my personal ministry page: http://iwillgoministries.org.

Bio:

I started this walk by enrolling at Charis Bible College and to study God’s Word for two years, graduating in 2011 with a Masters in Biblical Studies. Having learned the "what" of the Christian faith, my attention then turned to learing the "why" of my faith. I then enrolled and graduated summa cum laude from Biola University with a Master of Arts in Christian Apologetics in 2015. I am currently pursuing a doctorate in theology and apologetics at Corban University, with an expected May of 2022 graduation. In addition to that education, I became a commissioned Colson Fellow through the Colson Center in 2020.
