Dan Britton
Welcome to Dan's ministry site!
Bio:
Dan graduated from college in 1974 with a degree in physics and a minor in math. During this time, he explored many religions as an agnostic, seeking answers to life's questions. Those answers became evident on November 8th, 1998, when he became a Christian in what he calls his “Road to Damascus” conversion.
After retiring from a 31-year career at IBM, Dan enrolled at Charis Bible College and studied God’s Word for two years, graduating in 2011 with a master’s in biblical studies. Upon graduation, he began his study of apologetics and began to develop his own curriculum.
During a weekend seminar at Biola University in 2013, he heard Greg Koukl speak on Tactics, prompting him to enroll in Biola’s Master of Arts in Christian Apologetics Program. He graduated summa cum laude from Biola University in 2015.
In 2020, he became a commissioned Colson Fellow through the Colson Center and completed his doctorate in theology and apologetics at Corban University in 2023. His doctoral thesis was titled “Countering the Youth Exodus: The Role of Apologetics in Strengthening the Faith of the Next Generation.”
He was the Pastor of Equipping and Apologetics for eight years at Hill Country Fellowship in Burnet, stepping down from that role at the end of 2022. Since 2014, he has led one of the first Ratio Christi College Prep chapters, teaching middle and high school students. Dan was recently named the National Director of Ratio Christi College Prep in May 2021 to help others plant similar chapters and equip students nationwide.
Since becoming the National Director for Ratio Christi College Prep, Dan and his team have seen the start of 20 new College Prep chapters, including some pending in Africa and the Philippines.
In addition to his role at Ratio Christi, Dan is a full-time Christian apologist, professor, and mentor. He provides instruction and mentoring to teenagers and adults and as a professor at Ratio Christi, he instructs students locally and online on the subjects of theology, worldview, and apologetics. His current four- year curriculum includes Introduction to Worldview and Apologetics 101 & 102, The Intersection of Science and Faith 201, Survey of the Bible 202, and book studies including Letter to the American Church (Metaxas) 301, Counterfeit Kingdom (Pivec/Geivett) 302, The Story of Jesus Continues (Huffman) 401, and Jesus Contradicted (Licona) 402.
Dan’s current schedule includes student classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings and three on Thursday mornings. While the content of the evening classes varies, the Thursday classes are organized by year on a semester basis, using a four-year curriculum that he developed.
As a Christian apologist, Dan has spoken at a variety of churches, events, and classes, including SES’s National Conference of Christian Apologetics, Reasons to Believe, and Biola University, where he has spoken in Sean McDowell’s graduate class, Youth Apologetics, at Biola University.
Dan lives with his wife, Leonora, in central Texas and has two children, Danielle and Michael.
